Key: B = Bundles (entire system) This system will include: DVR, monitor and specified number of cameras. Average home or small business uses a 4 camera system. This purchase is for homes and small businesses as the cables for connecting the cameras are pre-set in length and connectors are attached. Few tools are required except to tighten down BNC connectors and a ladder.

C = Can purchase camera separately. Cameras can be purchased for use in most surveillance systems providing the DVR has the outlets available for use. This is a good way to vary up the cameras needed for your system. For instance, if a camera is needed for indoor night vision in one area and another needs to be a vandal proof camera outside, you can choose to change out the cameras in existence or add new ones. Tools will be needed if BNC connectors are not attached to cables. May need a little knowledge to accomplish.

M = Miscellaneous products (many cases can build entire system). This category contains all accessories needed to build your own. There may be a learning curve to trying to do it yourself. If you do not have experience in the camera surveillance field; you may save money and time by paying someone to do it for you or buying a bundled package. Tools and extra knowledge may be needed.
